Cloud services

"Cloud" is the buzz word in the I.T. sector right now. Cloud Computing, Cloud Services, if it's got the word Cloud in front of it it's the height of I.T. fashion, but what exactly does it mean? The truth is it's nothing new, these services have been around for years but by a different name, hosted services. In it's simplest terms cloud or hosted services is about removing some or all of the software you use in your organisation and moving it to a server owned and maintained by a service provider.

Why are cloud services suddenly so popular?

Some services have always been suitable for hosting, such as Web Sites and Email, the limit to what can be hosted has always been bandwidth. With faster internet connections being made available in most countries hosting is now suitable for much more, hence its popularity.

Can I move all of my software to the cloud?

That depends entirely on what software you use and what your requirements are. There are advantages and disadvantages to hosting applications and services and it's important you consider all of the factors before making a decision.

How do I know what's right for me?

Wangi Software have been providing hosted services since 1996 and have the specialist skills required to assess your systems and provide an honest appraisal of what's best for you. Whether you want to host you existing software or have us design and host a completely custom software package for you we have the answer. If your software isn't completely suitable for hosting we may still be able to design a hybrid solution and integration software to host part of your system.
In many cases we can provide a demonstration of how your software will work "in the cloud" so you can decide for yourself if it's suitable for you. Our demonstration servers include popular packages such as Microsoft Office and products from Adobe and Sage, but we can also set up demonstrations to simulate your specific requirements.
